Baisakhi

Definition: Known as the Solar New Year considered to be a spring New Year's celebration for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs from Lri Lanka, Bangladesh and India.

Important religious festivity, particularly for Sikhs who do not work on Baisakhi. Children are given special Baisakhi presents.

Celebrated on April 13 or 14.
