Canadian Citizenship Day

Definition: Citizenship Day in Canada has been held on the Friday before Victoria Day since 1958. Canada's Citizenship Act came into being on January 1, 1947 and the first official Citizenship Day was May 23, 1950.

A day for all Canadians to think about the rights and duties, privileges and responsibilities of being a Canadian.
