Help Support the Children of Afghanistan

America's Fund for Afghan ChildrenOn October 11, 2001 during an address to the Nation, US President George W. Bush asked the children of America to participate in a fund raising event for the children of Afghanistan.

"One in three Afghan children is an orphan and almost one half of Afghan children suffer chronic malnutrition after under years of civil war and drought and now suffer under the repressive Taliban regime.", says the US government.

President Bush asked "America's children to send a dollar to the White House to help provide food and medicine to the children of Afghanistan". Since the address to the nation over 90,000 pieces of mail have been received at the Whitehouse in Washington, from kids.

You can continue to show your support of America's Fund for Afghan Children fund by sending your dollar donation to:

A new forum called America's Prayers for Afghan Children Forum has been created on Spirituality.com that "provides the opportunity for young adults and children to share their prayers and messages of support for the Afghan children."

All responses on the forum are reviewed before being posted. You will need to register to post, however, it is free and not difficult to register. You must be over 13 to post a message. Please check with parents before registering for anything online.
