Ludorum Continues to Build Brand Momentum with the Premiere of Season Three and New Products in 2012

NEW YORK - February 9, 2012 - Ludorum, producers of the popular animated television series, Chuggington™, announced today that several of its licensees will unveil an exciting range of products at the 2012 American International Toy Fair® at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, February 12-15, 2012. TOMY, Ludorum's master toy partner for Chuggington, leads the way with the debut of a new track system and action-packed playsets featuring the show's popular sites and trainees. In addition to the variety of products on display from veteran licensees, many new partners will showcase Chuggington products. Playhut, Bendon Publishing International and Little Kids - the latest additions to Ludorum's portfolio - will unveil a Chuggington tent, new publishing formats, and a line of bubbles featuring the trainees, respectively.

The brand is speeding into 2012 with the recent announcement that Disney Junior will premiere the third season of Chuggington to coincide with the launch of the new 24-hour Disney Junior channel on March 23. Disney now holds the rights to 46 episodes.

"We are thrilled to head into Toy Fair 2012 with so much momentum behind the brand," said Maureen Taxter, senior vice president of U.S. consumer products, Ludorum. "Our work in 2011 to reach young families in meaningful ways has translated into increased brand awareness. As a result, demand from our fans for products in new categories is high and the new offerings that will be available in 2012 are sure to delight them."

Chuggington is making its debut in the construction category at Toy Fair thanks to the introduction of MEGA Brands' Chuggington MEGA BLOKS® line, which gives children the opportunity to build their favorite trainees and Chuggington destinations. The innovative range includes four sets and six buildable chuggers, providing endless building possibilities for fans.

Master toy licensee, TOMY, is taking playtime to new heights with the introduction of an all-new track system for its Chuggington Die-Cast Railway. The system enables fans to build track layouts vertically for the first time by providing the stability required to achieve tall, spiraling layouts. Easy to connect and simple enough for preschoolers to build on their own, the new track system is a durable and sturdy solution for adding elevation to train sets and creating amazing action. Meanwhile, TOMY's popular Chuggington Wooden Railway system will be augmented with new engines or "chuggers" based on the characters who will appear in the new Chuggington episodes premiering this year on Disney Junior. Feature-packed starter train sets, buildings, and tunnels will also debut at key price points. All are made with classic, high-quality wood construction, which is compatible with other major wooden railway toys. Chuggington fans will honk their horns about the debut of products that will hit store shelves in 2012, especially outdoor play products from new licensees. Playhut will exhibit a Wilson play tent from their 2012 line, while Little Kids will introduce Chuggington bubbles and bubble toys, including the Chuggington Bubble Train Whistle and the Chuggington Light-Up Bubble Chuggers. In addition, Chuggington fans will have a ball with the new playballs on display from Hedstrom.

In 2012, families will have many options for incorporating their favorite Trainees into story time and educational activities with the latest introductions from Modern Publishing, Publications International, Bendon Publishing International and Trends International. Modern will show the latest Chuggington titles in their coloring and activity lines, while Publications International will showcase their popular line of Chuggington electronic sound books. New licensee, Bendon Publishing, will introduce a proprietary publishing line as well as educational workbooks based on Chuggington's valuable Training Times lessons. In addition, Chuggington fans will get creative with the latest offerings from Trends International; the company will unveil a Chuggington sticker line with a Sticker Flip Pack and a Sticker Dimensional Scene at the show.

2012 will also bring an expanded assortment of Chuggington puzzles and games to market. Cardinal Industries, Inc. will introduce additional puzzles to their successful Chuggington line, while Ravensburger is set to debut seven traintastic new puzzles including, Chuggington: Four Seasons, a set of four puzzles in a collectible tin that helps teach children about the seasons and Traintastic Crew, a 40-piece puzzleball® featuring the colorful world of Chuggington .
