Hasbro Crowns Portland and Salt Lake City Area Teens as Winners of Inaugural NERF DART TAG World Championship
Iconic Brand Celebrates 40th Anniversary and Teens Enjoy World Title Following the Premiere NERF DART TAG World Championship at 2009 Dew Tour Festival Village
ORLANDO, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- Oct 17, 2009 TAG OR BE TAGGED! After nearly five months traveling the nation as a sponsor of the 2009 Dew Tour, Hasbro, Inc.'s (NYSE:HAS) action-infused NERF DART TAG LEAGUE regional tournaments culminated at the premiere NERF DART TAG World Championship event today. As part of the Dew Tour’s award-winning Festival Village, the first NERF DART TAG World Championship saw regional DART TAG winners from Chicago, Boston, Portland, Salt Lake City and Orlando matched up against one another for a final showdown. After an action-packed day, winning teams from the Portland, OR and Salt Lake City, UT areas were crowned the NERF DART TAG World Champions, receiving ultimate DART TAG fame and taking home $25,000 per team.
At each regional NERF DART TAG tournament players competed in teams of four in one of two age groups: 8-12 years and 13-17 years. Today, each regional age group team entered a round robin tournament which determined the final two teams to battle one last time, showing off their blaster skills in the title round of the NERF DART TAG WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

The winning team in the NERF DART TAG World Championship 8-12 year old age group hails from Portland, OR and includes: Leland Melz, Andrew Denny, Justice Storm, Austin McFarland. The winning team in the NERF DART TAG World Championship 13-17 year old age group includes Farmington, UT natives: Cole Wernli, Jake Wood, Carter Wood, Dalton Baker. Winners on each team will share in the $25,000 grand prize; each team member will take home a NERF DART TAG World Championship trophy.
